Bigtime news has been swirling around lately regarding high major recruit Damion James from the class of 2006. Earlier this week, at least one internet site claimed that the star wing player had officially committed to Oklahoma, but then the claim was rescinded--at least temporarily.
The other bombshell that just went off is that James is now reported to have left his AAU team, and switched to a new squad based out of Houston, and that he will be playing with them effective immediately. Sources are telling Elite Preps that the decision for James to leave his Texas Bluechips squad and to join the Houston Hoops organization has already been finalized. And according to the Houston Hoops official website, www.houstonhoops.com, the change has indeed already occurred, as Damion James is now listed as a part of the roster on their 17 and under team.
Also of note, Elite Preps has learned that Oklahoma will be visiting with James in person this coming week, and that a commitment announcement could very well be forthcoming. |
