One of the players in the Dallas area who has been steadily drawing more and more interest is Demarius "Shug" Jones out of Pinkston High School. The 6’3, 170 pound scoring guard from the class of 2008 has followed up a productive high school season with a solid AAU campaign this summer, and has been turning the heads of coaches from several division one college programs around the state and beyond, including those at Texas, SMU, TCU, North Texas and Alabama, among others. |

Over the last few years, the Dallas Showtyme has produced several players who have gone on to careers in some of the most respected conferences around the country, such as the Pac-10, the Big 12, and the ACC. The next name in line to join them just might be Brett Royster, the shot blocking machine out of Arlington, Texas. |

The second annual "Unity in Our Community" basketball event will be taking place this weekend in Houston. This year will feature Reggie "Air Man" Dixon(former Harlem Globetrotter) and his fantastic Celebrity Players taking on the Select Fort Bend ISD Superstar Varsity Ballers, comprised of high school players from Hightower, Willowridge, Elkins, and Marshall High Schools.

Bigtime news has been swirling around lately regarding high major recruit Damion James from the class of 2006. Earlier this week, at least one internet site claimed that the star wing player had officially committed to Oklahoma, but then the claim was rescinded--at least temporarily.
The other bombshell that just went off is that James is now reported to have left his AAU team, and switched to a new squad based out of Houston, and that he will be playing with them effective immediately. |

It will be one sizzling hot Ice Breaker down in Houston this year.
Hosted by RCSsports.com, a collection of elite stars will take the hardwood at Strake Jesuit High School starting Saturday morning, and the lineup is indeed an impressive one. On tap are some of the biggest names in AAU ball, including the Houston Hoops, Team Texas, the Houston Select, Team Houston, the Texas Ambassadors, and many more. A lot of young players will be ready to start off the summer with a bang at this kickoff event, such as Jai Lucas(feature photo), the highly ranked point guard prospect out of Houston Bellaire. |

When people talk about the elite talent coming out of Louisiana these days, the names which usually pop up are Tasmin Mitchell, D.J. Augustin, Demond Carter, and Perry Stevenson. Now a new prospect has been making a name for himself, and has been catching the attention of high major programs from all around the country.
